THE award winning continues for the West Berkshire Brewery as it added three more trophies to its cabinet this month.
It won two gold awards at the Society of Independent Brewers Association (SIBA) South East competition, before being crowned champion of the Imbibe Live Wheat Beer Challenge.
Will Twomey, head brewer at West Berkshire Brewery said: “We are very proud of our range of beers and this achievement is a testament to the teams’ hard work and dedication”.
In the SIBA south east competition, The brewery’s Tamesis Extra Stout and Maggs’ Magnificent Mild beat more than 125 entries in the small pack category, to both come out on top.
New brew, Wheaty McWheatface won the Imbibe Live Wheat Beer Challenge.
As previously reported in the Newbury & Thatcham Chronicle, Wheaty McWheatface was one of five finalists to face the live audience vote at the event, which was held at London’s Olympia.
Chair of judges Mark Dorber described the wining beer as “crisp, fresh and spoke of English material”.
CEO Simon Lewis added: “To be crowed winner amongst such great competition from the other finalists was tremendous.
“This is a testament to the brewing skills of our young, energetic and experienced brewing team led by Will.
“Our intentions are to let the team continue to experiment with beer styles and collaborations to develop a range of limited edition bottles.”
Wheaty McWheatface will now enjoy a seasonal listing at a selection of Mitchells and Butlers’ pubs.
