THE show to see for 2016 is coming to West Berkshire.

Retro Festival has been dubbed the ‘Best Show’ and the ‘Show to See’ for this year on social media.

The annual event, which is held at the Newbury Showground, Chieveley, has a range of live music, dance shows, military air displays, stalls and record breaking attempts on offer.

The three-day festival takes place on August 12, 13 and 14 and organiser, Paul Jezard, promises something for the whole family.

He added that the secret to the success of the festival was “all the different aspects of our show, as there really is something for everyone and every taste”.

As well as live music from artists such as The Jive Aces, Ready Steady Who, The Roosters, The All Nighters, Si Cranstoun, PlanB, The HighWasters and Adam Hoffman, there will be displays of military vehicles, vintage fashion, dancing, cabaret and a host of food and drink stalls.

In this 10th anniversary year there will be around 1,000 classic cars and motorbikes on display at the show, as well as a selection of miniature steam engines.

There will also be a timetable of flying, which will include the Falcon Display Team dropping in on the Saturday and a flyover by a Spitfire on the Sunday.

Organisers are also hoping to smash the UK Classic Caravan record by encouraging the biggest gathering of habitable pre-1986 caravans.

The weekend of entertainment also aims to raise money for charity and hopes to beat last year’s £5,000 total. All donations will go to The Children’s Cancer Fund, in memory of David Read and Lawrence Jezard.

Tickets for the weekend, as well as options for camping, are available at www.retrofestival.co.uk
