A beautiful village in Berkshire has been named one of the most idyllic places to live in the UK favoured by A-Listers.

Sonning, located on the banks of the Thames, has been placed on the list published by The Telegraph as a hot spot for celebs to re-locate outside of the busy city environment.

This star-studded village has attracted everyone from George Clooney and Amal Clooney to Led Zeppelin’s guitarist Jimmy Page.

George Clooney bought his beautiful 17th-century mansion within the village in 2016 alongside his wife Amal. The historical buildings and quaint pubs make it the perfect place to relax and destress after a hectic schedule.

It is thought that when visiting their home in Sonning, George Clooney is a fan of the local pub The Bull Inn and the Mill Theatre which features a range of popular plays and musicals.

The Great House at the Coppa Club is a popular hotspot for visitors and residents located on a historic Thameside Pile in a former Elizabethan coaching Inn. The dining igloos make it an excellent location to enjoy dinner and drinks at any time of year with a view of the Thames.

Other villages that have been named on the Telegraph’s list of A-Lister hot spot include West Wittering in Sussex which houses a variety of A-listers including Kate Winslett and rock legend Keith Richards.
