WEST Reading won their maiden Premier Division crown after beating hosts Ruislip Victoria by two wickets, writes Richard Ashton.

Kashif Maan (113) made a fine century, but a spell of 3-25 from Adam Davidson ensured RV could only total 226-7 in their 45 overs.

And useful knocks from Rahim Khan (57) and Taskeen Ahmed (51) paved the way for Wests to seal a deserved first title success as the visitors reached 228-8 in 42 overs.

Peppard Stoke Row secured the runners-up slot and pushed Emmbrook & Bearwood to the brink of relegation with a 68-run away win.

The prolific Fergus Nutt (67) and Dan Hayden (60) were aided by Charles Lamprecht (40) as PSR posted 255-9, with off-spinner Callum Marshall (5-57) the pick of the Bears’ attack.

Andy Webb (64) and captain Phil West (46) batted well for Emmbrook, but Chris Humphreys (4-24) and the returning Matt Hopper (3-56) did the damage as the hosts were dismissed for 187 with nine balls remaining.

Welford Park are not yet safe following a 124-run reverse in a rain-affected game at home to Crowthorne & Crown Wood.

Reyhan Ul-Din (58) continued his fine summer for the hosts, but Matt Gill’s 3-17 helped dismiss Woodley for 176 before Ryan Brown’s 57 then ushered Sully to victory in the 39th over.

Berkshire County Sports sealed the Division One title despite a 96-run defeat at home to Checkendon.

Openers Manpreet Singh (71) and Ujwal Tickoo (51) gave Checks the perfect platform, and despite Amer Aziz’s 4-30, they reached 211-8.

Second-bottom Hawley are all but relegated after they lost by eight wickets at home to Bradfield.

Graham Freakes smashed a wonderful 138 as Hawley declared on 229-8 after 41 overs, but that proved to be a mistake as Paul Amrstrong (102no) and Jonathan Stebbings (87no) eased Bradfield home.

Sulhamstead 2nds had the better of their draw at home to Ibis Mapledurham.

Tim Benham (91) led Sully to 260-9, while Chad Cudjoe claimed 5-60.

Dave Drury (81no) and Chris Webber (60) anchored the Ibis chase, but they fell behind the required rate and could only reach 214-5 in reply.

Division Two champions Farley Hill ended their season on a high as they beat Shinfield by 27 runs.

William Nash-Wortham (60no) top scored as Farley made 220-5, before Nick Timms (4-19) ran through the lower-middle order as the visitors were dismissed for 193, despite the best efforts of Richard Madgwick (54).

Waltham St Lawrence pulled off a five-wicket win at Earley.

Ollie Johnson (52) impressed as the hosts were bowled out for 193, but Zaheer Gujjar’s unbeaten 54 steered Saints home.

Ali Naeem (4-25) starred for Woodley 2nds (208-8) as they shocked Division Three champions-elect Twyford & Ruscombe (141) by 67 runs.

Bradfield 2nds moved top of Division Four following a six-wicket home win against Emmbrook & Bearwood 3rds.

John Bargent (4-19) was the chief destroyer as the Bears were bowled out for 142, and Dave Comber’s unbeaten 61 led Bradfield to a routine success.
